I have a constant need for a training collar. This collar is actually the third training collar that I get to use. The first two training collars that I used were sport training collars, both of which stopped working after a few months’ use despite changing the batteries. I switched to this model, and found that the training collar works better than the previous ones. The new collar has a longer range. What I like most about it is that I can recharge the batteries which means, I need not shed another $20 with each battery replacement.

I have issues with this collar though. I think it would be better if the collar has a quick-release buckle rather than the hole system. Understandably, dog owners are not supposed to leave it worn for longer periods. I also want to use it on specific times like on training and walking. Imagine the hassle of taking it on and off many times every day. With a quick-release buckle, it will be easier for me and my dog, snapping it on and pressing the side when removing it.

Another thing is that it claims on sensitivity levels; according to marketing, its 100. However, I observed that it is actually equipped with a free floating dial which means that it does not lock into a setting as required. The numbers are also in 20s increments so moving up to the next single level is impossible. On this note, I can say that the previous training collar that I used is much better since it has 10 settings that I can distinctly click in its dial.

Another problem with free moving dials is that there is the possibility of moving it accidentally. For instance, when it is moved too low, it will be very ineffective and too high, and it will cause discomfort.

Despite the fact that I already experienced these two issues, however, I would highly recommend the use of this training collar to anyone.
